PRACTICE TIME 😇🤩🥰💃 TODAY WE VISITED CHASHMAI AYUB AND ISMAIL SAMANIY MAUSOLEUM 😇😇😍🤗 The Samanid mausoleum is located in the historical urban nucleus of the city of Bukhara, in a park laid out on the site of an ancient cemetery. The mesmerizing tomb of Ismael Samani is an architectural bolt from the blue. The oldest, best preserved and most breathtakingly original building in Bukhara, it is without doubt oneof the architectural highlights of any visit to Uzbekistan. This mausoleum in Samani Park, completed in 905, is the town’s oldest Muslim monument and probably its sturdiest architecturally. According to the legend, the founder of Samanids dynasty, Ismail Samanid, built this mausoleum for the father. Later this building became the family burial-vault of all Samanids. Presumably, Ismail himself, who died in 907, and his grandson Nasr II ibn Ahmad, who died in 943 and whose name was found on the wood plate above the entrance, were buried here. This mausoleum is recogn...

KALYAN MINARET AND MIR ARAB MADRASAH

Изображение
On the second day of our trip😇😇 ,we visited the KALAN MINARET AND MIR ARAB MADRASAH🤩😍😘 The Kalyan Minaret (Persian/Tajik: Minâra-i Kalân, Kalon Minor, Kalon Minaret[2]) is a minaret of the Po-i-Kalyan mosque complex in Bukhara, Uzbekistan and one of the most prominent landmarks in the city. The minaret, designed by Bako, was built on an earlier existing structure called Kalyan by the Qarakhanid ruler Mohammad Arslan Khan in 1127 to summon Muslims to prayer five times a day. An earlier tower was collapsed before starting this structure which was called Kalyan, meaning welfare, indicating a Buddhist or zoroasterian past. It is made in the form of a circular-pillar baked brick tower, narrowing upwards. It is 45.6 metres (149.61 ft) high (48 metres including the point), of 9 metres (29.53 ft) diameter at the bottom and 6 metres (19.69 ft) overhead. There is a brick spiral staircase that twists up inside around the pillar to the rotunda. The tower base has narrow ornamental strings b...

Labi Hauz

In Bukhara, near the famous historical complex Lyab-i Hauz, the well-known architectural monument Kukeldash Madrasah is located (built in 1568 - 1569). It is the largest Bukhara madrasah and one of the largest ones in Central Asia. It was built during the reign of Abdullah-Khan II and was funded by Bukhara governor Kulbab who ruled the city under several khans and managed to maintain good relations with all of them. For his close relationship with the khans the governor was given the title Kukeldash, which was one of the highest standings in the khan’s court and meant ‘a milk brother’. Later the madrasah was named after him. Many people believe that Kukeldash Madrasah is part of Lyab-i Hauz complex, but it is wrong: archaeological excavations and research proved that the madrasah is a separate structure that bears no relation to Lyab-i Hauz. Kukeldash Madrasah was also a unique building of its time in terms of architecture. Virtually all the madrasahs then had the similar design of ...

Orlando traditions and customs

Wearing flip flops everywhere.  This is Florida, not New York. We are  casual.  If you show up for a lunch date (or even dinner) wearing anything beyond “business casual,” we’ll ask you where you’re going later — and we’ll be disproportionately shocked if it’s not a funeral or a wedding. Casually sidestepping alligators.  Speaking of those lakes, they usually have alligators in them! So don’t be surprised when Orlando natives are nonplussed by a sighting of the scaly reptiles. You’ll discover that many of our children have been well-trained in spotting and avoiding gators … not enough to actually stay out of the lakes, mind you; just enough to keep from getting eaten. Treating lunch like vacation.  Sure, lots of Orlando officeworkers eat soggy salad lunches at their desks like the rest of American professionals, but plenty of others are unable to resist the siren song of the dozens of small, beautiful lakes that are so prevalent in our city. When the cloc...
